NASA ROADS Competition
Team Lead (2021-22)
Advisor / Mentor (2023-24)
Worked with and led a team through a NASA competition that resulted in the top winning status and nationally recognized by NASA. Worked to develop lunar landing designs to mitigate risk factors, and had the opportunity to work as team lead over the course of a year with three hour weekly commitments. Currently working on another NASA project as the executive planner through the Sky Riders youth outreach program I founded.
Experimental Aircraft Association
Spreading the opportunities of aviation to youth through social media, outreach programs, and meetings. Created a social media campaign to introduce youth to aviation over five weeks with a reach of over 20k. Leading youth programs, mentoring students through pilot training, and creating lessons designed to inform youth of opportunities. Worked with a team of nine adults to coordinate meetings and plan large-scale flying events.
Sky Riders (Space & Aviation Mentorship Program)
Founder and Executive Director (2020 - PRESENT)
Working with youth to help mentor and supervise them through multiple flight programs and teach them about the different aspects of aerospace. The program was founded to provide underserved and underprivileged youth with pathways to become industry professionals in the STEM field and increase access to lesser known flight scholarships. Initially developed as a school club, which is continuing, the club has transformed into a wider reaching program. The program runs on a yearly basis every week, with summer programs and field trips to facilitate learning. Planning, setting up, organizing, and working directly with elementary to high school age kids.
Official Youth Ambassador (2021 - PRESENT)
Private Pilot
2020 - PRESENT
Certified glider pilot at 16 and airplane pilot at 17, the youngest ages to be certified. Began in the summer of my seventh grade and began progressing through training to attain both licenses. The commitment was at least two days a week of flying with over five hours of studying per week. The schedule required flexibility, especially in relation to weather, and required early mornings and late to be possible along with school and other extracurriculars. Additionally, one of the top scoring pilots for both written exams. Working on additional certificates, with short term aspirations to become an instructor.
Civil Air Patrol Air Force Youth Auxiliary
Working with cadets, youth, to further their aerospace, leadership, and discipline as part of the Air Force’s youth program for four hours every week. Serving as a volunteer to represent the nation, and working as a team commander to facilitate and organize learning. Currently ranking as a Billy Mitchel Cadet (one of the highest ranks), with only 15% other cadets in the nation. Additionally, I had the opportunity to win the highly coveted Cadet Wings scholarship which provided the funding for my airplane private pilot’s license worth over $60,000.
Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award
400+ Hours
2022 - 2023
Volunteered to mentor youth through various programs and was awarded the government’s PVSA award in the top category for having volunteered a significant number of hours as a high school student.
